OS1 Trussville clinic FAQ

Do I need an appointment at OS1 Trussville?

No. The Trussville clinic is walk-in. Come in during open hours and you will be seen, no booking required. If you want to call ahead, dial (205) 946-5741.

Do I need a referral to be seen?

No. You do not need a referral from another doctor to be seen at OS1. If your injury needs imaging or a specialist, your OS1 provider arranges it from the visit.

What insurance does the Trussville clinic accept?

OS1 Trussville accepts most major plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. Self-pay rates are available if you are uninsured. Call (205) 946-5741 to confirm your specific plan before you come in.

Can I get an MRI the same day?

Often, yes. Trussville has open MRI on-site. If your provider orders an MRI during your visit, it is scheduled in the same building, typically within 24 to 48 hours rather than weeks out.

Do you treat kids and young athletes?

Yes. OS1 Trussville treats patients of all ages, from kids and young athletes to adults. The open MRI is less intimidating for kids than a closed-bore scanner, and we coordinate referral to a pediatric subspecialist for the rare cases that need one.

What if my injury needs surgery?

OS1 is a non-surgical orthopedic clinic. If your injury needs a surgeon, we evaluate and stabilize it during your visit and connect you with the right specialist. You leave with a diagnosis and a clear next step.

Should I come to OS1 Trussville or go to the ER?

For most orthopedic injuries, a walk-in orthopedic clinic is the better first stop than a hospital ER. The wait is shorter, the provider sees musculoskeletal injuries all day, and the cost is a fraction of an ER bill. For a life-threatening emergency, open fracture, heavy bleeding, head injury, or chest pain, go to the ER or call 911.
