Broken Bone and Fracture Treatment in Kennesaw, GA

★★★★★ 4.7 from 44 Google reviews at OS1 Kennesaw

If you think you have broken a bone, you need an X-ray and a provider who treats fractures every day. You can walk into OS1 Kennesaw without an appointment or a referral, get your X-ray on site, and leave with a diagnosis and a treatment plan the same visit. For most closed fractures this is faster and costs far less than an emergency room, and you are seen by orthopedic-trained providers rather than general ER staff.

How to tell a break from a bad sprain

You often cannot tell without an image, which is exactly why an X-ray matters. That said, these signs point toward a fracture and mean you should be seen today:

Sprains tend to hurt across a joint and improve somewhat as swelling is controlled. Fractures tend to stay sharply painful over one point of bone and get worse with use. When in doubt, get the X-ray. A missed fracture that heals in a bad position is a much bigger problem than an X-ray you did not strictly need.

Go to the ER instead if any of this is true

OS1 is the right first stop for most broken bones. Go to an emergency room, or call 911, if any of the following applies:

Everything else, the wrists, ankles, hands, feet, fingers, toes, forearms, collarbones, and stress fractures that make up the large majority of breaks, is what we handle here every day.

What happens at your visit

Walk in during clinic hours and you move through the visit in one place:

  1. Evaluation. An orthopedic-trained provider examines the injury and checks circulation, sensation, and stability.
  2. Digital X-ray on site. Images are taken and read during your visit. You are not sent to a separate imaging center and told to come back.
  3. Diagnosis and immobilization. If it is broken, we splint, cast, boot, or brace it that day and control the swelling.
  4. Advanced imaging if needed. Some fractures, especially stress fractures, do not show on early X-rays. If your provider orders it, open MRI is available on site.
  5. Plan and follow-up. You leave with a written plan, a follow-up interval, and clear instructions on weight bearing and activity.

Fractures that need an operation get referred promptly to a surgeon. OS1 is a non-surgical orthopedic clinic, so we handle the diagnosis, stabilization, and the entire non-operative course, and we make the handoff fast when surgery is the right answer.

Frequently asked questions

Can a walk-in orthopedic clinic treat a broken bone?

Yes. OS1 Kennesaw takes the X-ray, confirms the fracture, and immobilizes it the same visit with a splint, cast, boot, or brace. For closed fractures this is the same care an emergency room would provide, delivered by orthopedic-trained providers, usually faster and at a lower cost.

Do I need a referral or an appointment for a possible fracture?

No. OS1 Kennesaw is walk-in and no referral is required. Come in during clinic hours, Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM.

Will I get an X-ray the same day?

Yes. Digital X-ray is on site at OS1 Kennesaw and images are taken and read during your visit, not scheduled for another day.

How much does fracture care cost without insurance?

OS1 publishes flat self-pay pricing for visits, X-rays, and imaging, so you know the cost before you are treated. Self-pay fracture care here is typically a fraction of an emergency room bill for the same injury.

What if the X-ray is normal but it still hurts?

Some fractures, particularly stress fractures and small wrist fractures, do not appear on an initial X-ray. Your provider will treat you based on the exam, and if advanced imaging is warranted, open MRI is available on site.

Do you treat children with broken bones?

Yes. OS1 Kennesaw treats patients of all ages, including growth plate injuries in children and teen athletes.
