What We Offer
Our providers perform a variety of injections to treat acute and chronic orthopedic pain. Many types of injections are performed with the use of ultrasound guidance to aid in the placement of the medication.
- Corticosteroid Injections
- Corticosteroid injections, commonly known as Cortisone injections, are used to help alleviate pain and inflammation. They can be injected into joints and around the tendons. They are used to treat a variety of issues such as tendonitis or arthritis.
- Viscosupplementation
- Viscosupplementation, or Gel shots, are injections used to help reduce pain and inflammation due to knee osteoarthritis. The medication used in these injections is a gel-like fluid called hyaluronic acid concentrate, which is a naturally occurring substance that is the building block of cartilage. The hyaluronic acid concentrate works by decreasing inflammation, lubricating the joint, and helping the knee make better, more protective joint fluid.
